Day ten of appeal procedure

nederlands

Yesterday, the 19th of April, the 10th day of Peike’s higher appeal took place. Like during the previous court days, a lot of comrades and sympathizers were present to support Peike.

Rather than questioning the new witness, like it was announced during the seventh day of court, the judge declared she had forgotten to invite the witness. The third witness, the Hamburg cop Beecken will therefore not be present until the court day that’s scheduled for the 25th of April.

Following this, the judge’s decision with regards to the video material that the defense had brought in as new evidence was relayed. According to the Soko Schwarzer Block the “crime” was not visible on the material. The judge gave this as a reason to refrain from viewing the material and to declare it inadmissible.

All in all, it only took half an hour before the judge ended the court day. Despite of this bizarro trial, Peike remains strong. He continues the struggle: for himself, and all of the other G20 activists who are being prosecuted, or will be prosecuted in the future.

Next week the trial will continue with the last two court dates that have been scheduled. To keep showing Peike that he does not stand alone in this madness, a bus will leave from Amsterdam to the courthouse on the 25th of April. A few seats are still available, so to everyone who also wants to go to a court day in solidarity: sign up as soon as possible!
