Yesterday (17th of March) the United We Stand group organized an anti-repression demo in Hamburg to draw attention to the situation that developed since the G20 summit took place in this city last summer. The demonstration was planned specifically on this day, to mark the international day of political prisoners, today, on the 18th of March. Even tough the police tried to discourage people from coming to the demo by showing up in full force and surrounding the group from the starting point at Gänzemarkt, about 2000 people walked through the city centre of Hamburg in a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with all who face repression from the state, the police and the prison system. The demonstration was very powerful and sent a strong message to the people around, with music and speeches from two trucks with sound systems and a lot people full of energy.
